This engaging session dives into the unique characteristics of hybrids, their current and future applications in Texas, and insights from Dr. Andrew Walker's grapevine breeding program at U.C. Davis. Learn about Paseante Noir, one of the five groundbreaking grapevines released by U.C. Davis, and hear firsthand experiences of its performance in the vineyard and micro-vinification trials. Attendees will have the opportunity to taste three trial wines, participate in a live voting exercise, and explore the commercial viability of this varietal.
