The selection of the planting stock for a particular vineyard site is one of the most consequential decisions for the production of high-quality grapes. The use of clean grapevines (certified, disease-free) should be an integral part of such decisions because it has a direct impact on the successful establishment of vines, their survival and growth rate, as well as the quality of fruit.
